This is Coronavirus 411, the latest COVID-19 info… Just the facts… for Monday March 16th, 2020.   New York surpasses Washington State in number of cases of COVID-19 as the U.S. total passes 3,700. That figure is expected to rise as the Vice President announced that more than 2,000 labs will have high capacity testing by today. With 1.9 million tests available this week. The CDC is recommending that for the next 8 weeks, all events involving 50 people or more should cancel or postpone.  New guidelines on curfews and social distancing are expected today. New York City and Los Angeles schools, join 31 states in cancelling classes. Restrictions have been placed on dine in restaurants and bars, in a handful of cities and states, to stop the spread.  California has asked those 65 and older to shelter in their homes. The first case of COVID-19 has been diagnosed aboard a Navy Ship. 

The Peace Corps will halt operations and evacuate more than 7,000 from 60 locations, notes The Washington Post.  Argentina, Germany, Peru and Russia will close some or all borders. France has closed all but indispensable businesses and Spain has ordered all residents to remain home. The New York Times reports that there are now more cases of the virus outside of China, then in country. China records 80,680 infections, with more than 85,000 in the rest of the world. Global case count: 169,387
