Choosing someone to be part of a local congregation's Eldership is an important and daunting task. It is also a very prayerful decision by an individual to accept that type of calling. But how firm are the qualifications for being part of an Eldership? Can't there be exceptions? What if someone can't be an Elder? Does that diminish their influence or council?
