First and foremost lemme say that it’s an honor to know someone as brave and powerful as yourself. This RAW spontaneous conversation was one I will never forget! The reality hits us all different but we most definitely fell it. As a community, times like this are extremely unsettling. Feeling every emotion possible, wanting to take action, wanting to see action taken place. It’s distasteful that this is a reality and has been for way too long.
In this Podcast we share our perspectives as a Physical Action taker & Peace Maker and what we feel could be done to have a more effective result that can protect our communities image in the future. At the end of the day, I believe EGO needs to be put aside to handle ish like this to truly see change [“be the change you want to see”]. I don’t believe all cops are bad but I do believe they’re 1. Programmed to be fearful, hate and take action (by their elders) and 2. Using times like this (“riot”) as an excuse to put ever Brown human in a “scary” category in their mind.
In conclusion I understand the purity and peace of protesting and am also aware of the toxic people that sabotage it. A great deal of the damage that was done this past weekend weren’t even the original protester but transplants taking advantage of our communities vulnerability to paint them as (destructive, raging, and out of control) such. My message to the community is ACT smart, use your power. We as a people are so great and speak a language like none other, use what makes us different to your advantage to through the [outsider] off. Y’NAHMSYAIN’
I hope you can receive this message Lailah and I’s take on spreading Awareness and Peace.
