Steven Tripp is joined by the Hon. Mark Banasiak MLC and Emma Bowman to discuss the Parliamentary Inquiry to examine the ‘Impact of Renewable Energy Zones (REZ) on rural and regional communities and industries in New South Wales’.
Mark Banasiak was elected to the NSW Legislative Council in 2019 and is a member of the Shooters, Fishers and Farmers Party. Mark is a passionate recreational hunter, fisher, and outdoor enthusiast. He continually advocates for greater access to public land for recreational activities.
Emma Bowman is a fifth generation Dunedoo district farmer, with her family farming in the area for over 200 years. She has a deep connection with the land and rural community that she has been living and working in almost her entire life. Emma’s love for her land and community is now threatened by the Central-West Orana Renewable Energy Zone which has engulfed Dunedoo.
Mark and Emma discuss the Renewable Energy Zones in New South Wales and why the upcoming Committee is important to highlighting significant issues with these projects, which Energy Co. describes as ‘modern day power stations’.
