This is Part 2 of our interview with Alistair Pope. Alistair is an ex-Lieutenant Colonel, who served in Vietnam, Indonesia and Papua New Guinea. He has since published over 300 articles in a variety of publications including Quadrant Strategy & Tactics, World at War, Camaraderie and military history magazines in the United States.

He is also an accomplished Chess player, with his own published books on the game.

Drawing on his experience and knowledge, Alistair details how Australia should approach preparing itself for the next war. His gives us an insight into the types of equipment Australia should purchase and stockpile to engage in modern warfare.

He also gives his assessment on whether an army’s troop size plays as an important role as it has done in conflicts of the past.
