Richard Ridyard is a Lecturer in Law at Liverpool John Moores University (LJMU). He holds degrees in law from the University of Oxford and LJMU. He is a Humane Studies Fellow, and Bernard Marcus Fellow, at the Institute of Humane Studies, and is the recipient of a Charles Koch Foundation Dissertation Award.   


In this interview, we discuss the history of indigenous land claims in Canada, starting with the Royal Proclamation of 1763 and the Indian Act. We then discuss discrimination against First Nations peoples in Canada today.
