The Force Awakens was the beginning of something potentially special and groundbreaking in Star Wars. However, Disney viewed this potential as box office poison in the eastern hemisphere, even though if you dig deep enough you can find evidence to the contrary. As a result, we got the most convoluted trilogy in blockbuster cinema history, and a great story arc got absolutely destroyed.
