Progressives have been having a debate about whether or not members of Congress should force a vote on Medicare for All. It’s mostly been an online-media driven conversation, but it illustrates some useful tensions, including how we differentiate strategy and tactics, how we discuss those topics publicly as we try to inspire people to take meaningful political action, and what role incumbent organizations play when some grassroots supporters want them to adopt a different set of strategies or tactics.
