p.m., LAPD Hollywood Patrol Division officers were westbound on Sunset Boulevard responding to a radio call with the lights and siren of their police vehicle activated. Out of nowhere, unrelated, Richard Solitro backs into their police vehicle.  Pretending to have a gun behind his back, he was shot and killed by police.
