We reviewed a study published in the May 2023 issue of CJSM with the first author Susil Pallikadavath, MBChB(Hons), academic clinical fellow in cardiology at the University of Leicester. The study sought to investigate risk factors associated with stroke among veteran endurance athletes with atrial fibrillation. We also discussed the study with masters endurance athlete, Rob Landis, who was diagnosed with atrial fibrillation. He spoke about his experience managing his condition while continuing to be an active athlete.
