We have finally reached the end of the 2022 Gay Anthems For A New Generation series and this last set doesn't hold back. Once again, in an effort to contemporize this batch — I went back the past 10 years and mixed in some newer gay anthems that when mixed in with older classics that have been re-worked for today's dancefloors make the effort feel fresh and contemporary.
I even took the opportunity to throw in a couple of recent tech-house tracks that sample the gay anthems 'The Underground' by Celeda and 'Work' by Masters At Work' breathing new life into these near 20 yeard old floor-scorchers. No stone was left unturned in this series and pouring through decades of modernized classics (some outstanding while others not so much) was a daunting task that occupied the majority of the work involved in creating these sets. I dare you to find any compilation as comprehensive anywhere on Spotify or Apple Music because you won't. In short, bitches can't touch this but plenty will be none too happy to pass it off as their own. I digress.
What's weighing heavily on my mind these days is the move towards an authoritarian state. Our system of government is dysfunctional. The electoral college, which gives outsized weight to the minority allows them to dictate against the wishes of the majority. The great American experiment is coming to a decisive end unless we turn this ship around in November. Even when we have the numbers to get significant legislation passed like gun control, universal healthcare, lower prescription drug costs, affordable housing, mental health resources, food assistance, and free local college tuition or trade schools — Democrats are continually stymied by an ancient artifact called the filibuster in the evenly divided Senate with Vice President Kamala Harris providing the tie-breaking vote.
Originally, the filibuster was implemented to allow the Senate to be a more deliberative body of the two branches of government. You had to stand and talk for hours on end to slow down a piece of legislation. Now, you can phone your objection in from your office without even walking your lazy ass to the well of the Senate. The filibuster has been wielded as a sword against progress and prevents passing laws that benefit society as a whole. It was never intended to be used as a way to stop progress. In the case of Democrats, we have a one-seat advantage in the Senate and because of two Senators with a (D) in front of them — they refuse to suspend the filibuster to get the people's agenda enacted. Mind you, the filibuster is nowhere in the Constitution and was implemented after the Civil War to ensure that the minority was trampled over in legislation. Now, it's having the opposite effect of its original intent.
Most recently, simple gun control measures can only be passed with a 60 vote threshold in the Senate because two Democratic Senators are attempting to uphold the traditions of the Senate. Meanwhile. seriously mentally defective people continue to legally purchase weapons of war and use them against innocent citizens including children. As long as members of Congress are beholden to special interests (think NRA) and unfettered money pours into campaigns and PACS with virtually zero accountability — our government will remain broken and beyond repair.
The filibuster was suspended twice by Republicans to shove through two Supreme Court Justice nominations giving conservatives a majority on the court. One of these nominees was only after Mitch McConnell (the Senate Leader) upheld Obama's nomination for 9 months to replace Justice Scalito after his untimely death under the guise that no Justice should be nominated in an election year. His gamble paid off and Trump won the election that year and was able to get Justice Gors...

As promised, Party Favorz is back with volume 2 of the 2022 edition of Gay Anthems For A New Generation and this set is on FIRE!
All the big gay anthems you'd expect in a comprehensive series like this are here along with long forgotten treasures from the past 12 or so years. I spent most of my morning going through this release with a fine tooth comb to ensure it was tight and flowed like butter.
I also believe that by the time the 3rd volume drops later this next week, you will want for not as every aspect of gay life has been covered in this time capsule that honors our past and present.
I would like to add another sub-category of the gay anthem list that wasn't included in the original post: teenage angst. While growing up gay has become more accepting and easier for teens, in many parts of the country (or even world) — it's still repressive. We all remember our years in high school when you just didn't come out for fear of being ostrasized or bullied or maybe you had a crush on your very straight best friend. There are a few songs in this set that touch on teenage angst, longing and anger. After watching the latest season of "Stranger Things" on Netflix and hearing "Running Up That Hill" by Kate Bush on repeat — it really go me thinking about the music I gravitated towards that gave me solace. It was if I was the only one that knew about Kate Bush and she belonged to and spoke to me and only me. She was later replaced by Sinead O'Connor with the release of the "Lion and the Cobra." Before all this was the Pretenders debut album."
In the millennium, Emo became the standard bearer for angst-ridden teens. While you don't have to be gay to feel the isolation or depression that comes with this age group — being gay only compounded the social anxieties and the need to be accepted by your peers. I specifically want to dedicate this set to those kids and I assure you that it does in fact get better. Mind you, not perfect but much much better.
I realize gay pride events have already kicked off so I'll be sure to drop the final volume around Thursday so everyone can get their gay on. There won't be an official Gay Pride release this year for the circuit boys but it will be rolled into part 1 of the 2022 Summer Edition. I've been promising our straight allies that new music is coming and I plan on sticking to that promise.
Until the next time...ENJOY!

Much ink has been spilt trying to define what constitutes a gay anthem, including on this very site. Since the changing of the guard from one generation to the next — Party Favorz has decided to offer a concise definition by simplifying what it was and how it's expanded from GenX to GenZ.
First, not all songs embraced by the LGBT+ community were written as gay anthems but for a variety of reasons are wholly embraced by our community as being such. While the same principles that constitute a gay anthem remain in place:
* Big-voiced divas
* Overcoming hardship in love
* Throw your cares away
* Hard-won self-esteem
* Celebrating unashamed sexuality
* Search for acceptance
* Torch song of the world weary
* Love conquers all
* No apologies
*Gay Anthem Wiki
Songs pretty much about nothing that gay folk gravitate to because they're just plain fun can make the list as well even though that hues closer the 'throw your cares away' category or songs by gay artists themselves, which are agnotstic in the audience they're trying to reach.
As such, when compiling this three-volume set — Party Favorz took great care to ensure that all the main staples that cross multiple generations are respresented but have been totally reworked into modern-day classics, which only shows how these songs stand the test of time. I also went back the last 12 years and yanked out several gay favorites that got us all sweaty on the dance floor to round the whole series out. So, you can expect the unexpected.
There is much to celebrate in our achievements for equality while there's still much work to be done. Since of duty dictates that we're not finished yet and there are many road blocks ready to roll back our hard-fought gains over the past 20 years on the near horizon. This is something that very much weighs on my mind as Rick and I will decide whether we want to continue living in this country in the next 2 years. I'd be more than happy to stay and fight but there's not much a physically disabled person can do other than write about what I see heading our way. I'm going to leave that thought right here for now and will expand on what I'm seeing in the final volume of this series. No one needs a Debbie Downer when we should be celebrating but at some point...reality needs to sink in.
For now, I want everyone (no matter your generation) to pop this first volume on and party like its 1999. Until the next time...ENJOY!

The original set was updated so that the Josh Harris remix of 'Proud' by Heather Small was switched out for the original remix by Illicit and the transition from 'We Are Family' by Sister Sledge was pushed out by 15 seconds for a smoother transition.
We have finally reached the end of the Ultimate Gay Anthems & PRIDE Classics series and this fifth volume does not disappoint. I cannot begin to describe how difficult it is compiling and mixing this massive series. The decision process alone determining which songs make the cut and those that get left behind is a painful process. So, if there's anything you feel is missing — it'll likely make an appearance on the forthcoming Essential Gay Anthems For A New Generation set(s) I have planned for next week. I've been syphoning new remixes for songs that will be included and placing them into their own special folder and will collect our favorites since the original series began and compile everything into possibly two massive sets.
For this final set, which represents a very specific time period between the 90's and say the first 15 years of the millennium with updated classics from those periods as welll as the 80's — I want to recognize the DJs that have not only filled our lives with so much joy but enriched them with their mastery and midas touch when it comes to reworking other artists.
Over the course of this 5-set journey, the bulk of the biggest names have already been reconized in our Legacy series, which honors the work of not only the living but the deceased members of this elite community. It's no wonder that Hex Hector, Junior Vasquez, Ralphi Rosario, Tony Moran, Freemasons, Almighty, 7th Heaven, DJ Barry Harris, Thunderpuss, Victor Calderone, Toy Armada & DJ Grind, Wayne G and Jonathan Peters make up the bulk of what's presented here. No other DJs have contributed so much to our happiness and for that — we are most grateful for the joy they've brought to our lives.
Keep in mind that while this series is a pretty fucking big deal and massive in scope and size — in no way does it discount or relegates artists, DJs and allies to the LGBTQ+ community not mentioned or represented in this series any less worthy. We worship them all and if I've left someone out — please accept my deepest apologies.
I'll be back next week. Until then...ENJOY!

This set has been updated since the original post. 'I Believe 2009 (Ralphi Rosario Vocal Club Mix)' by The Absolute feat. Suzanne Palmer was substituted for 'Body Rock' by Oceana and 'Dancing On My Own (Guy Scheiman Club Remix)' by Robyn was added to the final version.
No sooner than I finished yesterday's post — I found an issue with the website, which lead me down a rabbit hole of multiple issues. Mind you, nothing that affects the user experience but triggers my anal instincts of perfection. By the time I finished and resolved to leave some issues for another day — my day was lost and I was too tired to finish volume 4 of the Ultimate Gay Anthems & PRIDE Classics that I promised I was going to do.
Rick has been out of town so that allowed me to get up early this morning and get to work on cleaning up this mix, while replacing a couple of tracks with better versions. Then I started adding stuff I had forgotten about and this 4-hour set turned into nearly 5 hours.
The end result is shear perfection and frankly a delight for GenX and early Millennials. I had decided to skip on mixing up a variety of styles for the final two volumes, which makes things a bit easier so volume 4 is big room circuit but nothing that's over the top. There's a lot of gay anthems and quality classic gay pride cuts here.
As I had previously stated, this series is as close as you're going to get to a best of the Diva Hall of Fame people have asked me for. What's nice about this is that all those leading ladies that I never got around to inducting or for whatever reason didn't feel it was warranted — are included here. People like Jeanie Tracy, Kimberly Davis, Anastacia, Suzanne Palmer (who really deserves an entry), Paula Cole, Shania Twain, Heather Small (of M People), Judy Cheeks, Alison Limerick, Lara Fabian, Nelly Furtado, Debby Holiday, Amber, Goldfrapp, Sarah Atereth, Deborah Cooper, Beth Sacks, Pepper MaShay, Andra Day, Latanza Waters, CeCe Peniston, Sabrina Johnston, Shawn Christoper, Soraya Vivian (Degrees of Motion), Thelma Houston and so many more have touched our little gay hearts at one point or another in our drama-filled lives that it's a travesty that I can't acknowledge all of them.
Consider this series their honorary induction and acknowledgement of what they've meant to so many of us. We say, thank you from the bottom of our little queer hearts.
We've got one more set to go, which will be the remaining Hi NRG and house music tracks before jumping into the annual Gay Anthems For A New Generation so we can wrap up our 2022 Gay Pride offerings before festivities start kicking off. Until the next time...ENJOY!

The Ultimate Gay Anthems & PRIDE Classics volume 3 is now ready for mass release and this one follows in the same footsteps as its predecessors in that it goes back and forth from Hi NRG to Big Room classics.
Apparently, I had compiled more tracks than I realized, so this four-set series will turn into five. I've pretty much got volume 4 in the bag but want to make some last minute track version changes and plan on dropping that tomorrow to speed things up.
The goal is to have the final volume and the anticipated two-volume set of The Ultimate Gay Anthems For A New Generation out by the end of the month so we can move on to regularly scheduled programming.
It's not clear if there will be an official 2022 Gay Pride set — so I'll just leave that as an open question mark.
In other news, Apple went back and has now put the entire Party Favorz Store up on Apple Podcasts. The show is available in iTunes but there they only have the standard Party Favorz show and all the other shows are listed out in the wild separately from the main show (that's not how they used to do it so I may have to reach out to them to have them put under one umbrella). I'm not sure why iTunes is different from Apple Podcasts but I'm not going to spend a lot of time on it.
Anywho, you can now follow Party Favorz on Apple Podcasts as well as each individual category separately and it's all under one roof here https://apple.co/3NbkT7t
If you're following on iTunes, I'd still recommend using the manual method because that one lists up to 300 episodes while the official channel only has 100. Plus, you can go back and add each category individually to keep all your folders better organized if you choose by using the feed URL for each genre I provided in my last post. Since I took that post down — I will try to have those listed in the support section later today.
I should be back tomorrow. Until then...ENJOY!

Party Favorz is back with volume 2 of the Ultimate Gay Anthems & Pride Classics and the gay just keeps getting gayer.
To be honest, I only had an outline in my mind about what I wanted to achieve with this 'ultimate' gay anthems series. It wasn't until I started putting it together that I realize just how difficult it was going to be. In most cases, I'm trying to stick with the original versions but in other instances — I'm finding it better to go with more current remixes of the same track to keep the pace and overall flow tight. This becomes more evident once volume 3 drops later this week. No need to worry because these updated remixes stay true to the original.
Because of the diverse styles included here, I found that key mixing only works for some songs but the need to change direction becomes necessary so as not to have the same style used for long stretches. That's where matching the percussive elements of each song come into play even when the styles are different. There is no software for that and it's just something I learned to do a long time ago when I either got stuck or needed to change the energy of the mix.
Equally, I find myself having to re-edit many of the overly ambitious remixes that have extended drops that take you nowhere. That only happened twice in this set but considerably more in the upcoming volumes. However, I did leave 'Un-break My Heart' by Toni Braxton alone this time. This is the first Hex Hector remix that really sparked his star (even if it was done with Soul Solution) but it was clear he hadn't totally worked out his drop technique yet. Editing this song is easy but since I've never let it run all the way through before — I thought this would be the time to leave it in its full glory because it's not overly long.
Any of you following the Roe v Wade issue currently exploding in the United States know that I get overly heated on political issues. After the draft opinion by SCOTUS was leaked in advance of its official release in late June — I've become inconsolable — and you should be too. What I see coming down the pipeline affects everyone — not just women. I'll have more to say about it likely at the end of all these Pride mixes because I want to be as clear and precise as to the fallout from this decision and how serious we should all be taking this.
For now, I just want everyone to be free gay and happy. Lot's a great stuff heading your way.
Until the next time...ENJOY!

Party Favorz is officially kicking off the 2022 Gay Pride season early with volume one of the Ultimate Gay Anthems & PRIDE Classics series. These sets are a massive update to the original Gay Pride Classics sets that were originally released in 2014 (It Get's Better, Love Sensation, True Colors, Together Again & We Are Family).
This and the forthcoming volumes primarily focus on gay anthems that were released in the 90s through the first half of the millennium. As far as Party Favorz is concerned, this is the golden age of club music with so many entries for inclusion it was painful to drop just one song. However, there are some newer songs that go past that timeline that have become staples in the Gay Pride arsenal as well. The majority of newer anthems will be included in the upcoming 'Ultimate Gay Anthems For A New Generation' release scheduled for later in the month.
Since the original release, there has been a glut of remixes for instantly recognizable classics who's original version didn't quite fit in with the overall flow of this release so we went with the updated versions. To be certain, this is not the same series as the original releases. Barry Harris and Dirty Disco have been the main contributors who have preserved and modernized many of our favorite gay anthems.
Speaking of which, you're going to find a hefty dose of other legends like Hex Hector, Junior Vasquez, Ralphi Rosario, Freemasons, Victor Calderone, Wayne G, Almighty and 7th Heaven amongst the many songs included here.
Over the years, we've had a lot of calls for the creation of a best of the Diva Hall of Fame. While there are currently no plans to create such a series because it's a bit redundant — consider these final Gay Anthem releases to be just that. The tracklist alone on this series reads like a who's who of our favorite divas who've been inducted into the Hall of Fame including those one or two-hit wonders that never went beyond the kind of recognition they rightfully deserved.
You will notice in this initial tracklist a little something, something by one our personal favorites K.D. Lang. The one solid remix missing from her induction into the Diva Hall of Fame was a great remix of 'Constant Craving.' I don't want to speak ill of the person who did the remix that was included in the release but it was really bad and there weren't any other options at the time of its release. Enter the fabulous legendary Tracy Young.
It appears Tracy created a remix of 'Constant Craving' in late 2021 after the release of our Diva Series, which may be updated to include it later this year and can be purchased here for diehard fans.
I could go on and on about how much fun this set was creating and all the headaches e...

Ahh yes, it's that time of year when the dead foilage comes alive and pollen fills our membranes reaking havoc on our sinuses while covering our outdoor belongings in a flourescent dust that seemingly never goes away. I'm talking about spring the often most desired and detested time of the year. It's that transition from a cold dank winter (milder and milder year over year) to temperate days with lots of sunshine, rain and in the United States — tornadoes.
Put all of that aside for a moment and distract yourself with the Party Favorz annual Spring Edition 2022, which is chock-full of big tribal beats, big room progressive heat and the biggest divas. Someday, I should make a calendar of all the cover art from our annual series because this guy is sizzling!
I'm dropping a double-hitter this weekend for a couple of key reasons: 1) this set came together flawlessly and if I sit on it for a week — new tracks will drop during that time making me compelled to add them, which just mucks everything up. 2) Our lease is up on July 3rd and since we have to give a two months notice, I'll be hitting up the glutton of new properties in our county this next week so I can be locked and loaded when I start negotiations early. All signs indicate that our complex is raising rents by $300, which in this area makes no sense. We have a 2/3 occupancy rate and there are literally dozens of new housing complexes that have been built in the past couple of years here. Add to that a sizeable amount that were already built between the 80s and just 10 years ago and there's a lot of options. We never bought a house because there's too many responsibilities involved and frankly, we don't have any kids.
Truth be told, we've lived here since this place was under construction in 2017 and would like to remain here for a couple more years. Rick has talked about moving back to South Texas where we're from to be closer with his family but the reason I left the entire state was to get away from there. My father is deceased and my mother and sister now live in North Texas about a 10 hour drive from there (yes, Texas is a big ass state) but that wouldn't be for another couple of years if we decided to.
My goal is to be able to negotiate a new 24 month lease with a moderate increase that buys us enough time (because we hate moving) and by then, our plans could change depending on what direction the United States takes in its governing. Personally, I see things going south quick, which is why we'll be renewing our passports shortly to be prepared for the worst.
Touring these properties and gathering information, rates and desirable locations takes a lot of time. Don't ever go by listings online as I've found in the past the rates are inflated. It would be foolish not to go to the physical property to see what they're not showing you in these apartment finder apps. That and they almost always have move-in deals like the $2,000 debit card we got for moving where we're at now. Funny how they always show a ton of pictures of the lobby as if that's where you're going to be spending the majority of your time. I get that first impressions are important, but that's not what people are looking for when looking to move.
Anyhow, I digress. Just hope we aren't moving in July because that will definitely muck-up the Party Favorz summer release schedule.
I do plan on getting ahead of the curve for Gay Pride this year. For one, there's going to be a massive update to our earlier Gay Anthem and Pride Classics series and I may even release the annual Catch-Up series early this year. All of this isn't set in stone and needs to be thourougly vetted before I decide the right path ...

Party Favorz has landed a new T-Dance Edition just in time for spring. This set offers a whole lot Sunday afternoon power tracks to compliment your cocktails.
Lately, Dirty Disco has been on a tear with one solid remix after another and the Spring T-Dance Edition 2022 is chock-full of them. I had more Disco Gurls, Block & Crown and Ghostmasters but most of those tracks have been moved to either the next Disco House set or Thank God It's Disco series.
This set begins with a low simmer but quickly sizzles to a low-boil before finally cooling down with two notable entries to close it out. We have the excellent Eric Kupper remix of Reba McEntire's 'Does He Love You' and a new Diana Ross track 'I Still Believe' with Purple Disco Machine at the helm. Reba sounds stronger than ever on this 2009 classic and while still excellent — Diana's voice is beginning to show strain. Both ladies are DIVAS in their own right and the fact that they're still making great music is a testament to their iconic status within their industries.
I had started working on the next Disco House installment but to be honest, the music just isn't there...yet. It's generally the easiest series to whip-up but too many of the biggest songs just fell flat (IMHO). So, I've pushed that back to its original scheduled release for two weeks from now and will begin compiling the set list for the Spring Edition 2022 to be released (fingers crossed) next week.
Until the next time...ENJOY!
