Often successful "blockbuster" type films receive sequels, most of which were not originally intended to have sequels. This leads to the classic money grab follow up film that falls below all expectations. Given that John Krasinski (Write/Director of Part I) never intended to make another film, the setup was being molded for a dud of a film. However, in our humble opinion (& based on excellent RT scores), Part II rocks! It meets expectations and avoids the massive pit that consumes most sequels.
