As Christopher and Eric discuss Season 1, Episode 8 of THE 1990'S, THE DEADLIEST DECADE, we meet handsome, beloved Navy radioman Allen Schindler, whose attempts to shield himself from institutionalized, systemic anti-gay harassment result in bloodshed and a mother's agonizing grief. But sometimes grief turns to activism and activism creates change. As one determined mother pursues justice for her son, we're reminded of all that's been accomplished by the LGBT community in the past two decades and how far we still have to go.
