This week will deal with allowing God to forgive us and us accepting it.Forgiveness-the action or process of forgiving or being forgiven.PardonThe word nāśā (accent on the second syllable, with the vowel sounding like the word “ah’”) means “the taking away, forgiveness or pardon of sin, iniquity, and transgression.” So characteristic is this action of taking away sin that it is listed as one of God’s attributes (e.g., Exod Micah 7:18- Who is a God like you,who pardons sin and forgives the transgressionof the remnant of his inheritance?Where is another God like you,who pardons the guilt of the remnant,overlooking the sins of his special people?You will not stay angry with your people forever,because you delight in showing unfailing love.19Once again you will have compassion on us.You will trample our sins under your feetand throw them into the depths of the ocean!20You will show us your faithfulness and unfailing loveas you promised to our ancestors Abraham and Jacob long ago.
