This is episode 1 of 2, with my younger brother Trevor. We kick off the show's actual play campaign The Sidekick. Our hero, Todd the Heroic, and his sidekick Marigold Thundercrack find themselves in conflict with the fearsome pirate captain Jason St.Josephine. Which ultimately leads to the local tavern catching fire.The Sidekick is a unique actual play campaign, each month the podcast guest assumes the role of the sidekick. The campaign is inspired by the childhood game of Telephone. Any actions taken, lore or character details established, or injuries sustained to the character in an episode carries over next month for the new guest to deal with. Trevor was a great first guest who really came into the game with a lot of imagination and heart. This was actually the second time we tried to record his episodes, and Trevor was a real team player to come back and re-record with me. However, the episode wasn't without some technical challenges. We recorded the episode over Discord using an audio recording bot called Craig. It worked great in our initial record, but in this recording the bot actually stopped working a number of times part way through this episode and the second one.
