The Gambling Show* - Farmers @ Torrey
Last week, our weekly pool pick had the 36 hole lead, but no victory. I whiffed on sportsbook betting, while Stu hit - but there’s already controversy to his season sportsbook record. Is he keeping two sets of records?! Onto this week at the Farmers… the famed [Tiger but without Tiger] Torrey Pines. See who the pool pick is. And we discuss the plethora of options for the sportsbook wagers. Official cards will be put on socials. Apologies for the brevity… busy week on the home fronts and in the world. The Gambling Show* Amex [Desert Classic]
C’mon - call it the [Desert Classic]! Augie and Uncle Stu briefly refresh the Cannonball Golf One and Done Pick-em-all-before-the-season-starts pool pick this week in Sungjae Im - and briefly discuss Daniel Berger’s T7 last week… we’re on the board y’all! Then, we get into some sportsbook betting picks for the [Desert Classic]. We are not sponsored by the event title sponsor, so they only get referred to in the title. Other topics covered: the faces on paper money, strip club $2 bills, and kids shoveling snow/ice. Hey, who said this was strictly a gambling show?… lots of life lessons to be learns across various subjects. Think of it as shooting the shit between shots on the golf course… or hell, while you’re over the ball. Cannonball Comin’/Cummin’ -Augie

The Gambling Show* - 2021 Season Picks
Augie and Uncle Stu enter the Cannonball Golf team into a season long one and done pool. The catch - all players must be chosen before the first even. A guy chooses not to play an event, tough shit. But we have the secret sauce - Stu’s pivot table for all results going back 8 years so we can see the likelihood of a player choosing an event and their finishes. For some events, we leave it to the golf gods and flip a coin. Karma comes back quickly on Stu for saying Cameron Champ is a has been. And we decide putting the term “retrench” into our on-course smack talk repertoire will create an advantage during future on-course gambling. So grab yourself a few beers, pop a gummy to open up those brain receptors, and sit back as the debate ensues on who to slate from the Sony Open to the Wyndham Championship. But we have to start with the majors and Players, along with the WGCs. And then the remainder. Cannonball Comin’

Masters Swag - 2020 Recap
Say what you will about DJ, the guy's got swag. Augie and Charlie start off by featuring and discussing the most coveted golf merch - Masters merch - new and old - some filled with tequila and Coors Orig. Next up, a historic year for the tournament - the 2020 version with no fans, DJ’s record-breaking dominate swag, and some(one) who talked about re-writting par around the famed and historic Augusta National. International players made a splash near the top. Plus, Iron Bernhard makes the cut at the age of 60+ and takes it head-to-head against the young, talkative, bombing whippersnapper. Tiger makes a 10… haven’t we all? Haven’t we all birdied the next 5 of 6? Tiger Woods is your 2021 champion. Book it. Champions dinner is always a hot topic - might look different next year if DJ executes his sandwich foreshadowing. Who at the top of the world rankings would be a good hang - like slugging beers and playing golf good hang. Seemingly few and far between according to the boys. Speaking of beers on the golf course - Augie and Charlie, with their tail between their legs, discuss the 2020 Fall Scramble season which started with promise and ended with empty pockets. Until next year (maybe?)… Cheers!

Bomb & Gouge Again - US Open Post - Winged Foot 2020
Augie and Charlie hop on a Zoom to reboot the pod. Topics of discussion - the 2020 US Open @ Winged Foot where the scores were supposed to be brutal, and they mostly were aside of a few rounds on calm days. Bomb & Gouge?… a tale as old as time. They discuss the history of bombers and the history of winning scores at US Opens… you’ll be surprised. They catch up on the state of their golf games and how the season has been during a global pandemic. One would think more golf would be played, but hey, there are these things called life and family. Everyone does what what they can when it comes to hitting the links - another tale as old as time. But, there is the last major of the year to talk about and it’s not The Masters… it’s none other than the FALL SCRAMBLE!

The Gambling Show* - 2020 US Open @ Winged Foot
The Gambling Show* is now live and presented by Cannonball Golf. The 2020 US Open at Winged Foot is gonna be doozy - will anyone finish under par? Brooks Koepka, the major slayer, will not - he’s not playing due to injury. Odds on favorite is DJ, and for good reason… he’s hot and Winged Foot is reminiscent of Oakmont, cite of his 2016 US Open victory. You can grab Tiger at 40+/1. And we’ll discuss other players as well. The usual gambling partner in Stu is out of commission for this ep, so friend of the pod Randy joins Augie in the betting discussion. Good luck and hope you cash! *working show title

Ep 041 - Bandon Dunes, Lawsonia, Skokie
Charlie tells of his strong finish at Lawsonia and his not-so-strong-lost-some-sleep-over-it finish at Skokie. Augie has various finishes over his 5 day golf trip - his longest ever - to the land of Bandon Dunes. He'll probably talk about Bandon forever, but these are the first audio entries into his Bandon diary.

EP 040 - Glory Trail to Augusta
Let's reminisce about that Thursday you spent at Augusta National. Oh, you didn’t? The year Tiger won his 5th? Welp, Charlie did. Charlie starts with his trip down south with the Top 25 university courses he played and whiskey he drank as the anticipation builds for Thursday. After an early morning drive that sounds like something out of a fictional novel, his experience unlike any other included the ceremonial tee shot (sunrise golf), merchandise (of course), walking the entire course, brushing shoulders with Augie-flow-favorite Tommy Fleetwood (almost), finding out who no-cell-phones actually applies to, insider information from an Augusta Nat’l looper (a caddie, a jock, a pro jock) including a game of “what’s more dangerous”, and yes, food and beer. More you say? Ok, there’s more. The back nine is where Charlie has his “oh shit” moment on the hallowed grounds. Chairs on 18 green... oh he’s got that too with more close encounters. Pull up a chair, grab some beers, fire up the flames in Butler Cabin as we enter the Glory Trail to Augusta.
