Did you know that the binge eating page on our website has seen an increase in visits of over 65% since July last year? This tells us that there are a lot of you out there struggling with this so on today's episode, we're breaking down binge eating. Binge eating disorder is the most common of all eating disorders, but it's not something that is talked about or well understood in a mainstream way and it often carries with it a lot of stigma and shame. Even if you haven't received a straight binge eating disorder diagnosis, binge eating commonly pops up across the spectrum of different eating disorder diagnoses and you may still experience episodes of binge eating, for example when you’re in recovery from a restrictive eating disorder.
For this episode, we're delighted to welcome back EDV's Wellbeing Coordinator, Amy. Amy joins our host Bree chat about what binge eating is, why it occurs, what treatment for binge eating disorder may look like, and tips to help you support yourself after a binge episode.
