Ryan dealt with eleven years of spiritual, psychological, and physical abuse in the male branch of the order, <a href="https://www.facebook.com/oathmissionaries/" target="_blank" rel="noopener noreferer">The Oblate Apostles of the Two Hearts</a>. Religious order abuse is a problem in the Catholic Church that is too often not exposed for fear of reprisal, cover-up, or a false sense of "scandalizing" the Church. Ignoring the problem does not make it go away.
