On this episode, I talk with Garin Hay about the field of “environmental humanities” which we both work in. We discuss how the environmental humanities allows for navigation of environmental issues and questions both in conjunction with, but also apart from, the sciences. We also discuss the origins of this podcast series, what brought me to study coastal erosion as a humanities student, and why it is important to think through environmental crises like coastal erosion by way of a multi-disciplinary and multi-faceted approach.Garin Hay holds an MFA in poetry from Mills College and is currently a PhD Candidate in English Literature at UC Davis.
