Kelsey Carter, co-founder and executive director, shares the journey of building a safe and accessible retreat facility for children, teens, and adults facing serious illnesses and other life challenges. The 40-acre state-of-the-art campus opens its doors June 16 and is a tribute to her late brother, Cole, who lost his battle to cancer in 2004, and her late mother, Stacy, whose dream was to create a special place where, despite illness, everybody shines.
