Mayoral candidate Pete Boland has just announced he raised $50,000 which is tremendous. I sat down with him as his campaign continues it’s momentum. He is very learned on the issues and he has put real thought into them as well as just being able to dissect any issue I brought up with ease. Pete has an Everyman feel to his campaign. That is somewhat populist too. I think independents and moderate democrats can see voting for him. And the great news for Pete is that he is a Republican and fiscally-conservative while being liberal in terms of social policy. So, I see many moderate republicans coming on board his campaign. I think they will be attracted to his struggles growing up through problems with family and their health and his great small-business emphasis. His “people focus” is also something these voters will find attractive. This is basically putting people ahead of politics or personalities or anything really. I also asked him about his mantra which is St. Pete First. All in all, my nest interview yet I think. Great new microphone means clearer audio. Turn up the volume still though if you need to.
