Blood splattered. Bones broke. The prison guard didn't fire his Mini-14 to stop the beating, so I... just kept punching. I was a scared 19 year-old kid in a Level 3 Maximum Security Prison. Due to the small riot I started I was taken to the Solitary Housing Unit or S.H.U. as we called it. I was utterly alone for 90 days. I had to face reality, and change.
