Just riffing on several ways the King James Version has damaged individual Christian Bible study. It's not particularly worse than a number of other translations, but it's the only one that has people and pastors and schools claiming it is inspired (in English) and infallible. One irony is that it's printed as the "1611" KJB. Well, the 1611 version contained the Apocrypha and it was actually changed early in because of an error in translating one verse in the Psalms. If you have an actual 1611 version, it has that error and it has the Apocrypha. It's not a "Satanic" bible. It's fine. But it's hardly perfect. I just spit out a number of doctrines it obscures and odd choices in word selection. The men translating it were replacement theologians and their work is colored by that assumption as well as by being the bible for a state church. Here are the relevant verses, in order of reference, for those wondering (and this is just a brief list of the problems throughout the whole of the translation): Ephesians 3:8-9Titus 1:2Galatians 1:4-51 Corinthians 15:55John 1:12Matthew 8:12Acts 2:38Acts 4:8Acts 5:3John 11:11-14Luke 23:43Psalm 69:2The cover slide on the YT video version shows a man walking through a minefield. I've covered this topic previously from a different angle and I know I'm touching the third rail. People who embrace ecumenicalism and Rome get less backlash than anyone questioning the KJV! Anecdotally, that's another reason we need to end this blind allegiance to the idea that the KJV is inspired. And I didn't even mention the soul/life error that has caused so much heresy.Become a supporter of this podcast: https://www.spreaker.com/podcast/brooklyn-s-dad-talks-about-the-bible--4330982/support.
