On today’s edition of Bring It On! host William Hosea speaks with two declared candidates for public offices in Monroe County. They are Ruben Marte’, Candidate for Sheriff, and Matt Fyfe, 9th District Congressional Candidate. Even though mid-term elections are a year away, we wanted to hear what these candidates believe in and how they want to make life better for citizens and improve how these respective offices function. We’ll first turn our attention to Ruben Marte’.

Ruben is currently an Indiana State Police Captain, who in addition to routine law enforcement duties, works extensively to improve police and community relations. He has hosted workshops for civilians and conducted training sessions for Indiana State Police cadets and seasoned rank and file. His focus will be on creating a greater understanding of the complexities of what it means to protect and to serve.

Matt Fyfe is a 9th District Congressional Candidate. Matt is a life-long Hoosier who was born and raised in a small farming community. His mom worked various jobs in schools – as an aide, in the library, and most recently as a bus driver. His dad worked for 45 years on the railroad and supported their middle-class family with union benefits and pay. Matt’s parents taught him the value of working hard, the joy that comes from helping others, and the importance of standing up for what’s right.
