On my birthday, January 26 I launch this workshop. Years ago on this day, January, 26th I was born in the hospital in Alkmaar, a city in the North of The Netherlands. I think that my parents would never have imagined that I was going to be born in Alkmaar en they most probably didn’t know about the existence of Alkmaar, because they were born in a rural village in Turkey.

My granddad left this rural village in 1968, first for Germany, then to settle in the Netherlands. Although I cannot claim that I have gone through a huge transformation as my family did, I went through a transformation within.
