World Rugby has released a report on the level of online abuse which took place during the Rugby World Cup France 2023, where out of 1.3 million posts analysed, 2065 posts and comments were deemed to be abusive and reported to the various platforms, and the identities of 224 accounts - which were sending abusive comments- verified. Lester Kiewit speaks to Jean le Roux, research associate at the Digital Forensic Research Lab, about how online abusers can be traced and brought to book.
