Welcome to the third State of the Sport, where we will be taking a hard look at what is REALLY going on in various sports over the summer with a subject matter expert.

Today, Friend of the Show David Profusek will be dissecting the current State of College Football.

Just like last summer during our first State of College Football, Name, Image, Likeness, or NIL for short, is still a free-for-all in the college sports recruiting landscape that has caused controversy, including Lane Kiffin dissing Ole Miss for LSU and. There’s the Brendan Sorsby situation at Texas Tech. Oh, and Bill Belichick is still at North Carolina, coming off a disappointing 4-8 first season with the Tar Heels.

And the College Football Playoff -- always a controversy -- could be expanding once again soon, this time from 12 to 24 teams.

On the field, Indiana, without star quarterback Fernando Mendoza, will be looking to repeat. The Big 10 has won the National Championship three straight seasons. Will its dominance continue?
