This man found riches of the great value… gold and sliver so precious he wanted dearly to embrace… I imagine him saying to himself… “This is a treasure better than all the treasures of the world combined”. Then what did he do? What would you do? I would be quite a happy man! In my joy I would sell my house and car and all my guitars to have this treasure worth more than the world itself. That’s what he did… In joy he sold all he had… This is the wisdom of God that Proverbs points to… even God’s only Son Jesus. Today, it may be that God has awakened you to see Jesus as the treasure that he is… The good news, the pearl of great price… the one worth unclenching your grasp on the worlds treasures so you might embrace him and prize him highly. If you have faith to embrace him he will reward you with himself. Hebrews  Thank you Lord for your grace… It is not of our goodness or works or even our will… but you awaken us to see you as the greatest treasure and through faith we choose you because you have chosen us before the foundation of the world.
