We just went through the snowstorm of the century here in Texas. It took the Texans by surprise and a lot of things happened here that no one predicted. For one, we had rolling blackouts all throughout Texas. Not only that, the power outages affected phone service, internet, and water. Many areas were asked to boil their water, and all of us were asked to conserve water for a time. There’s been a lot of devastation for people around here. Today, Braden and I are going to talk about what it was like to live through this winter storm over the past week.

How long did it snow?
Only a couple of days, but there was snow for a while.
What did you do in the snow?
I didn’t go into the snow much, but when I did I mostly just threw snowballs.
What did you do in the house while it snowed?
Not much just sit around in blankets and drink cocoa.
What happened after the snow?
Well it melted and turned to ice

What is snow?
Snow is made up of lots of small ice crystals.
How does snow form?
Snow is formed around small pieces of dust in the atmosphere. When it gets cold enough and there is enough moisture in the air, that moisture will form into ice crystals around the piece of dust.
