This week, Sunny and Mayank sit down with the wonderful and always smiling, Gus Worland.
Gus is a radio and television personality, having worked on Triple M breakfast radio and having hosted a three-part documentary series Man Up, which was focused on lifting the lid on the relationship between masculinity, social isolation, mental health and suicide. Fun fact, he also hosted a show called the ‘Cricket Tragic’ which followed his journey to search for fellow cricket tragics Australia wide!
Following the passing of his friend and mentor, Angus, Gus was triggered into action. Knowing that more was needed around education and connection, he left his breakfast radio gig and founded the not-for-profit foundation, Gotcha4Life which is an Australian mental fitness charity that works to end suicide through delivering programs that create meaningful mateship, build emotional muscle and strengthen social connection in local communities. Gus shared that the vision of Gotcha4Life is zero suicides; because no one life is worth losing.
What stood out to us, was Gus’ insatiable hunger and zest for life. This uncanny ability of treating life like a big cake just waiting to be devoured. We hope you enjoyed this one just as much as we enjoyed being a part of it.
