We sat down with Carl "The Cuban" Ruiz at La Cubana in New York the day his restaurant opened to talk about Food Network, Cuban Food, beer snobs, and the restaurant business grind.

This is the first episode of our podcast but unfortunately it was our last conversation with Carl. He passed away of a heart attack on September 21, 2019.

Carl was raw, insightful and lived life to the fullest. He was a Food Network star and talented chef. The world will miss you, Carl.
