On today's episode, I spoke with Glenn Topping. Glenn retired from a south Florida sheriff's in 2009 after serving for 25 years on patrol as a deputy and sergeant. In that time, he also worked as a crisis negotiator, narcotics interdiction detective, and he also started one of the first active killer response training programs in the US in the late 80s. Glenn shared stories about baring witness to a drive-by shooting at a nightclub and about using a tow truck for something other than its intended purpose! Prior to his time as a deputy in Florida, Glenn served int he US Army as a military police officer, and was deployed to West Germany during the height of the Cold War.
