I had the pleasure of speaking with Kyle McLagan who is an incredible human being. Being a professional footballer for Iceland, AKA professional soccer player, is just one aspect of him. I’ve been lucky enough to get to know Kyle over the past few months since he joined our Athlete Circle here at Asc3nsion Life Coaching Academy. I’ve appreciated that Kyle has had an open-mind since day one. I also really appreciate that he is vulnerable when he needs to be, asks questions, and chooses to show up each day for himself, career, and the one’s he loves. Kyle’s journey into professional soccer is one that I find truly inspiring. He didn’t always dream of going professional, wasn’t a top recruit for colleges, and got many ‘No’s’ when attempting to play professionally. He is a great example of someone who dug deep to find the mental strength to move through the obstacles. He chose to take the ‘No’s’ as not yet and with that build resilience in the face of the unknown. He practices the art of surrender which has moved him into debuting in the Champions League, scoring in the Champions League, and helping Iceland take the Icelandic Cup this past season. To hear more of Kyle’s story and how he continues to show up each day to asc3nd to his highest level, tune in, take some notes, and enjoy. Get in touch with Kyle McLagan: @kyleclagspro

In this #PerformanceHack Episode I discuss the importance of staying present during transitionary times. Many times, people either get caught reliving the past or going back to old beliefs and behaviors. Or people are anxious to get to the 'new' because the in-between phase is uncomfortable. It's where the daily work of building new pathways to create new beliefs and behaviors can get exhausting. It is during this phase though where the most important lessons lie. I give a few tips towards the end on how to navigate through this time and the valuable lessons you'll learn coming into the new version of you.
