Historically, churches that serve the black community haven’t just functioned as houses of worship. Black churches have also served as broader community resource centers, fostering social engagement, and encouraging political participation. As mental health becomes a rapidly growing concern in the black community, we call upon religious leaders to recognize their place as not just spiritual leaders, but as a critical resource for their congregants' emotional, psychological and mental health needs!
