Recentemente, il ricercatore di sicurezza Oliver Hough ha rilevato falsi installatori di DirectX 12 per sistemi operativi Windows 10, che portano con sé un malware in grado di rubare le credenziali del portafoglio per Bitcoin (BTC) e altre criptovalute come Monero (XMR), per poi rubare i fondi. Lo ha rivelato il 24 aprile, tramite il sito di notizie tecnologiche Bleeping Computer.

Come riportato dalla fonte citata, i cybercriminali hanno creato una falsa pagina di Microsoft DirectX 12 , un pacchetto di funzionalità nell'ecosistema Windows 10, soprattutto per il settore dei videogiochi.

Tra i portafogli con versioni per Windows 10 che potrebbero essere attaccati dal nuovo malware, Bleeping Computer menziona quanto segue: "Ledger Live, Waves.Exchange, Coinomi, Electrum, Electron Cash, BTCP Electrum, Jaxx, Exodus, MultiBit HD, Aomtic e Monero ”.
