If you need some recommendations on new comic books to check out, this is a great podcast to listen to. The big planet comics store is one of the best curated comic shops in DC metro area. These guys have good tastes! A great listen for all comics fans and newbies alike.

Really enjoy the low-key yet informative nature of the podcast. Sometimes they talk about books that are less well-known or kinda out there, but its good to hear those perspectives and learn about new & different things. Keep up the good work, guys.

This is one of the few podcasts that I listen to religiously ever week. Covers a broad range of comics and has led me to purchasing stuff that I would never have considered until I listened to it.

This podcast is a great source of information for broadening your horizons as a reader. Based on their recommendations I have bought comics both by independent companies and by new teams on titles I never would have read otherwise from the big two. Keep up the good work, it is no wonder you guys are the leaders in the area, and have fans from all over.

These guys know comics. I have yet to be lead astray by the titles they recommend. Unlike a lot of comic book podcasts, the hosts keep the audience in mind. A great listen for those new to comics.

An amazing comics related podcast from the guys at my local comic shop, Big Planet Comics in the DC metro area. I look forward to listening to this after I've picked up my haul for the week to see what they think on similar titles. The show is well produced, sounds great, moves at a great pace. The guys love comics, know what they are talking about and make it entertaining to listen to. If you are a fan of comics you will love this show.

I listen to all the major comic podcasts out there: 11 o'clock, IFanboy, comic vine, word ballon, etc. while I like them all, big planet has a way of making me just smile and remember why I really like comics. They just honest in their enjoyment of what they are doing: recording a conversation about comic books. I love it. Plus, they can just be straight up really funny. I catch myself laughing out loud with my head phones on. I'll say that since most of my reading is marvel dc type stuff sometimes I'm a little lost as to what they're talking about because at times they go pretty deep on the indi stuff. All good though.

A great podcast. They review tons of comics and have a lot of fun doing it. A great listen every week.

I am admittedly biased, but this podcast is so much fun -- even when they start pushing the 90-minute mark, I usually don't want it to be over. I love that they discuss all manner of comics -- from mainstream superhero stuff to European comics to indie comics and literary comics and everything in between. I love comics anyway, but this podcast has made me more excited about them and has pointed me to some titles I probably would've overlooked otherwise. If you have any interest in comics -- whether you're a casual or life-long fan -- I think you'll find plenty to enjoy here.

If you live in the Washington, DC Metro Area and read comics you probably have shopped at one of the four Big Planet Comics stores. In the Big Planet Comics Podcast, the staff from the Vienna, VA store (Kevin, Jared and Nick), bring their high quality service out from behind the counter and straight to your iPod or other device. The Podcast provides an outlet for their vast knowledge about comics and graphic novels. Knowledge they display without nerding out too much (let’s face it any comics talk comes with a certain level of nerding out). The guys (and the occasional female guest host) provide solid reviews of material worth consuming. They have an understated way of encouraging listeners to buy stuff. Sadly, they make some of the bad reviews hard to resist adding them your pull list, just to see how bad they truly are. I totally enjoy their love/hate relationship with comics by Scott Lobdell. If you’re looking for a fun resource to explore what’s new in comic books and graphic novels, look no further, you have a home with the Big Planet Comics Podcast. If you drop by the store you meet the same cast of characters you meet on the Podcast. I have choices as to where to get my comics and drive into Vienna regularly, through Tyson’s Corner which hosts three of worst traffic intersections in the nation, to shop at Big Planet Comics. It’s largely due to these guys and their top notch service. Give them a listen. You’ll want to shop there too!!!
