Kane 'Sugar' Johnson - Way of the Peaceful Warrior.
Not everyone leaves an indelible mark on the sport of AFL however one such player is Kane Johnson,  whose stellar career with both Adelaide and Richmond spanning 220 games exemplified determination, tenacity and skill. He was an integral part of the Adelaide Crow's back-to-back premierships in 97/98 before the age of 20.He then returned to Melbourne to lead the Richmond Tigers, a  team he supported as a kid from 2005 to 2008.It was pretty apparent early on in his tenure as captain that Kane was a natural leader. It was this innate quality that led him post-footy into the field of holistic health and wellness as well as working with aspiring young athletes in coaching and mentoring roles.Kane was truly well ahead of his time in the mindfulness space and was unknowingly leaving his mark during his time at Richmond shaping a significant role in the Tiger's resurgence which culminated in the 2017 Premiership. This is definitely not your average chat with an AFL legend, this bloke has soul, integrity, and Spirit and knew there was something more to life than footy.Kane Sugar Johnson was a formidable force on the field yet it's his legacy he is attempting to leave on this world to be of service and help people become the best versions of themselves and learn not to be stuck in one single mindset that is truly formidable. You literally cannot listen to this to this episode without growing your heart, soul, or your spirit in some way. Book Recommendation: "Way of the Peaceful Warrior" by Dan Millman Beyond the Struggle Podcast Website - https://www.beyondthestrugglepodcast.com.au/

Compound Interest - Sam's Personal Development Journey
Sam is the co-host of the "Dadfocals" Podcast where they exchange stories relating to being a Dad and promote the concept of men speaking out to one another if they are struggling. Sams's motto is "a problem shared is a problem halved" and talks openly and honestly about his experience recently during the traumatic birth of his son Otis as well as reflecting on his own personal development journey over the last decade. We discuss how Sam and I met on a men's retreat recently and how that experience has changed the way he operates now on a daily basis. We discuss the concept of "Stillness" of the mind to achieve more, how physical training and the uncomfortable work benefits both mind and body, and many other concepts relating to growth through adversity and human development. This is a must-listen for anyone that is a Dad, is going to be a Dad, or wants to be a Dad sometime in the future. As a successful businessman in the finance industry, this bloke truly understands the concept of compound interest or 1% better every day in all areas of his life. However he is the first to admit, he didn't always have this mindset, and like everything in life 'You have to do the work" and believes whatever path  you are currently on to improvement- "There is no destination, just enjoy the journey"Podcast Recommendation - Dadfocals @dadfocals on InstagramBeyond the Struggle Podcast Website - https://www.beyondthestrugglepodcast.com.au/

"Marathon not a Sprint" - How to think, grow and survive a high conflict separation.
In this episode I chat to a bloke with a fairly extensive list of qualifications in Healthcare, Acute Emergency Nursing and conflict management just to name a few.Jeremy Limpens has worked in remote locations around Australia and the world dealing with a diverse range of populations and personalities including indigenous communities and has had his share of challenges along the way.But it was to be a relationship breakdown with his partner that would pose maybe his greatest challenge where he was forced to utilize all his skills learnt in the field to maintain not only his children but also a sense of internal peace.Jeremy talks about how battled over 400 allegations directed against him in the Family Court system, why he believes the system is broken and how to look at separation from a fairer perspective for all concerned. He gives listeners currently in the system some concrete advice to move through what he calls the "Ultra-Marathon of your life" without losing your integrity and your sense of connection. This episode is a must listen for anyone, because no matter who you or what you do, it just may be you that ends up in a similar position.Book Recommendation - Non Violent Communication by Marshall RosenbergBeyond the Struggle Podcast Website - https://www.beyondthestrugglepodcast.com.au/

The "Great Re-Set" - Simple not Easy
Episode 10- In this episode the host shares a simple not easy concept to focus on the here and now. Instead of reacting to what the universe throws at you, utilising the power of NOW and not attaching yourself to an outcome,  we can harness the age old power to just be present. He also discusses how sometimes compassion for someone can be a great  way to reset as well as using cold, heat, exercise and those around you to Re -Set.The power of the reset on a regular basis can sometimes be the difference between walking away from a difficult person or situation or punching them in the face.We all a need a Re-Set from time to time.Book Recommendation - The Power of Now by Eckhart Tolle Beyond the Struggle Podcast Website - https://www.beyondthestrugglepodcast.com.au/
