Is Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson eyeing a North American football empire? Are we looking at the absorption of the CFL into the XFL? Are these extreme measures for an extreme league in extreme times?

The recent official talks between the XFL and the Canadian Football League have become a source of podcast discussion, wild speculation, enthusiasm and optimism, and downright anger. It is no secret that the CFL has, of late, been looking down a road of hard times. While The Rock's ownership of the XFL is great news for players and fans, this is a league that has twice suffered the fate of termination. But timing may just be perfect on this possible partnership of the CFL and XFL, with one league looking at another re-birth and the other looking for a lifeline to survival and expansion. The Rock is a savvy player, and positioned in eight strong markets; and the CFL has a foundation of more than century across Canada.

This episode looks at the issues around a merger of the two football leagues, and what this might mean for football fans.
