James-Michael Smith (M.Div, Gordon-Conwell Theological Seminary) is a Bible teacher, author, artist, and Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu black belt. He a weekly Bible study through the books of the Old Testament as well as seminars and short-term courses in Biblical Studies, Christian Thought, and Theology in churches and ministries throughout the country and around the world. In 2015 he started #RefugeeJitsu, an anti-bullying and self-defense program for refugee, immigrant, and lower-income kids in Charlotte, NC.
In addition to writing and teaching, JM is also an artist and lifelong martial artist who uses both areas of passion to help support himself in ministry as well as to encourage and equip others who share an interest in either of those disciplines.
