The shortest verse in scripture carries immense weight: "Jesus wept." When he arrived at Bethany, seeing Mary's raw grief and the sorrow of the community, Jesus didn't stand aloof or offer immediate solutions. Instead, he entered fully into their pain, allowing his own spirit to be deeply moved. This profound moment reveals a God who doesn't just observe our suffering from a distance, but who plunges into its depths alongside us. In our own times of sorrow, loss, or deep disturbance, it can be tempting to believe we must bear our burdens alone, or that God is too grand to care for our tears. But the image of Jesus weeping reminds us that God is intimately acquainted with our grief. He meets us in our lament, joining us in our brokenness. Today, if your heart carries a burden, know that you do not weep alone. The Divine Heart weeps with you, offering solace and understanding in the midst of your pain.
