Kobe came in scoring 35 or more in the previous 4 games and torched New York for 46 on this night--including several memorable plays. With an electric MSG crowd and TNT favorite Kevin Harlan on the microphone, this game is immortalized in Laker lore as Kobe began a steak of 9 consecutive 40 point games to get the 2003 Lakers back into the playoff hunt.
