After the first breakthrough performance, and dollar raising profit, of the first phase in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, it was time for Marvel and Disney to continue on. That brought us Phase Two of the MCU. With the many sequels, the second big team-up, the introduction of a new team, and the induction of a terrible actor into a multi-million dollar franchise, we now start to see the eventual de-escalation of stories and the rise of the corporate cash grab obsession that we now live with in the MCU.
