Guests Donn and Andy Corder discuss with Mindy how Cancer impacted their lives and what Bag iT Guiding them through Cancer meant to them!
Andy - I was born in Albuquerque, New Mexico. I entered the United States Air Force and served for 20 years. My previous wife, Tina, died from cancer in 1990, leaving me a single parent of 3 young children. I later met and married my wife Donn. In 2008, I was ordained as a Deacon in the Roman Catholic Church. In 2011, I was diagnosed with Esophageal Cancer and I spent the next two years in some form of curative therapy (Radiation, Chemo and Physical).
Education -
AA – Accounting (Southwest College of Business), New Mexico
AA – Intelligence (Community College of the Air Force
AA – Business (Pima Community College)
Donn - Born and raised in Ohio. After graduation, I entered the USAF. When I married a widower with three young children I chose to separate from the USAF and be a full-time Mom. Three days after our 20th Anniversary, Andy was diagnosed with esophageal cancer. A friend gave us a Bag It. Outside of prayer, it was the best gift we got during his illness. I had no cancer experience and had no idea of how to cope with this illness. The Bag It provided me with such great information and helped me be a better advocate for us.
