India boasts the largest democracy in the world. Since gaining Independence over 70 years ago, it's political landscape has been dominated by the Congress Party. However, the elections of 2014 saw Narendra Modi sworn in as the Prime Minister. Since then, India has developed domestically and economically at lightning pace, becoming one of the biggest players on the World stage. Modi has also become the first non-Congress leader to win a second term in office after having completed a first full-term, with his popularity remaining high. In this episode we take a broad look at Indian politics and some of the recent controversies that have threatened to derail the popularity of the ruling BJP party.
