While Courin interrogates Harrim for more information about Zayne's whereabouts, the Leaf on the Wind begins to lose altitude and speed. Through quick action the party is able to right the ship just in time to make port in the windy city of Shu Jing.

There, the initiates take in the sights, sounds, and smells of the city's open air market, its field of wind turbines, and the prestigious Piandao Academy. Chet takes a stroll with Akem while the others go shopping for new equipment; Mariposa has an encounter with a little thief.
