How you doing? This is Brett Campbell here, creator and founder of the Authority Academy Online Coaching Community, and today, I want to talk about live events.
Why I believe live events are important on 2 levels ... Number 1, being the person who is actually going out there and attending different events, and then number 2, the person who is actually running and putting on events where people are actually coming to see you and to learn from what it is that you know.
First things first, go back to number 1 here, and is the concept of you actually attending an event. You're booking in an event, whether it's a free event or a ticket event, whether you are flying to another state, another country or whatever the case is ... What I suggest is every single entrepreneur do is at the end of each year is look at the calendar for the following year.
Now a lot of events may be only marketed, say, 3 months prior, some even 8 weeks prior, actually to the event. Some of the major ones, they'll already be booked and ready for the next year. I want you to start thinking in the terms of what events are you going to be going to over the next 12 months and why.
For example, if you're in a startup phase right now with your business, and you're looking to just generate some more leads or just even get a foundation, you want to go and look for events, teachers, people who are out there teaching you how to actually do just that.
Now, of course, you've got the other big events, like the Tony Robbins Date with Destiny, all of those things, which you would call a "flagship" event.
Now, I highly recommend that you sit down, and you schedule in at least 4 or 5 events, 4 or 5 events. Now, if you're like anything like me living in Australia, it's a little bit harder to get to the American events. However, we've got airplanes now, and it's quite easy to actually jump on a plane and head over there.
Another great thing that I like to do as well is if you're doing an overseas excursion or you're looking to do an overseas event, try and look at events that tie into each other. For example, last year I actually went to an event that, the first event was at the end of March, and the second event was the end of April, so I actually tied in a little bit of a holiday in between there as well.
Of course, maybe that won't work for you, whatever the case may be. I just want you to start thinking in the terms of where are you actually scheduling and planning your events? On the flip side of that is what events are you actually running? If you're knowledgeable and you're an expert, and you're an authority in some key area, why are you not putting on events?
Now maybe you are. Maybe you're not. My challenge to you is, if you haven't yet put on an event, set a date. Set a date that is comfortable for you, okay but don't just go, "I'll do it in 12 months' time" because you'll just put it to bed, and you won't do anything about it. I want you to think of a day, say 6 months', 5 months' time, pick the date and reverse engineer. Work backwards of what you actually need to have done or set in place in order for that to happen.
Okay, don't get scared about, "Oh, I don't know if people will turn up. How do I even get people to my event?" You're never going to get people to your event if you don't have a date set to start with, so you need to start with that first. I hope those couple of tips have helped reinvigorate your mindset because, look, we're all students of life.
We're always continually learning, and what can happen at times is we get so stuck into your own business that we forget about that we want to actually be out there as well and going and attending events, learning.
Not only that,

Hello, Brett Campbell here.
I'm just shooting this quick video because I get asked this question a lot.
It's to do with ClickFunnels, Infusionsoft, other email marketing services, and drag and drop website builders, et cetera. I'm just going to lay out my experience and why I use what I use, and hopefully with that can help you because number 1, I just want to put out there that just because Expert A says that you must use this and this, it doesn't mean it's going to be the best fit or perfect fit for your business, so really important that you remember that because someone could easily say, "Yes, you should use Infusionsoft."
At the end of the day, it really does depend and I'll share with you why.
When I first started out in the game, I was using AWeber as my email marketing service. It was because I had a very ... I didn't really even have a list when I was starting so that's where I started building my list. The reason being was because it was $19 a month for me to use and that was fitting within my budget. Something like Infusionsoft where I believe now the minimum, I think, could even be a couple of hundred bucks a month, would have been far out of my reach.
I swapped from AWeber to Infusionsoft when I reached over 45,000 email contacts, the reason being the cost with AWeber was starting to far exceed the costs that I could have had with Infusionsoft.
I also found benefit out of the Infusionsoft shopping cart as well that you get with it and it just allows you to do far more complex type funnels. If you're just starting out, Infusionsoft may not be the best thing for you. However, if you are just starting out and you are looking to scale to a 7-figure, multi thousand person email database and having multiple different products and services, then I highly recommend maybe bite the bullet and you start with Infusionsoft first.
Why?
Because it can be a pain in the arse trying to transfer everything over. Inside my Infusionsoft, now I think Infusionsoft basically have me as a client for life, I've literally got hundreds of campaigns set up in that machine.
Don't make the transition until you really feel that you need it or you're ready to go all in and you can afford it because it is more of an investment. Now, ClickFunnels is the drag and drop builder that I use. I've gone through most of them. I went through the OptimizePress. I went through the, "Can I build it with my standard WordPress? Can I use the AWeber forms, the Infusionsoft web forms that they give you?"
To be honest, the best thing, I've even gone through lead pages, ClickFunnels to me is the best purely because you can build an entire funnel. It also comes with a shopping cart which is really cool, so I don't use my Infusionsoft shopping cart for my online products anymore. I simply use ClickFunnels which has Stripe inbuilt into it as the shopping cart.
All I do is I connect Infusionsoft on the back end of ClickFunnels and I use that. Even though I have a pro account with ClickFunnels which allows me to get Actionetics and Backpack and all of those things, I only use the email system from Infusionsoft. I don't use Actionetics.
Now, there's arguments for and against to use that. Right at this time, I choose to just use Infusionsoft so what you can do is you can do an API call. You can connect Infusionsoft with ClickFunnels. Any time an action happens or any time someone opts in, someone goes through your ClickFunnels page which is nice and beautiful, but they automatically go into your Infusionsoft campaign which then the magic happens.
That's a quick rundown on how and what I use right now.
ClickFunnels to me is probably one of the best investmen...

How you doing?
It's Brett Campbell here, creator and founder of the Authority Academy online coaching community where I help entrepreneurs generate more leads, more fans, and more customers.
If you want to find out and that sounds like something you'd like to learn more about, head over to Authority-Academy.com, but today I want to talk to you about this concept that was given birth to on a podcast episode I recorded yesterday on another show that I have called the "Deep Dive Podcast." Feel free to go check that out, deepdivepodcast.com.
I was talking to my co-host there, Jeff Moore, and as always before the show I always ask Jeff, I go, "Jeff, what do you want to talk about today?" and he always comes up with something cool in regards to a term, and what I mean by that, he said, "Let's talk about school's out." I was like, I had to think for about a second or two and I said, "That's a great topic."
We got talking. We got talking and discussing this concept of "school's out," and we totally led to this conclusion that there's too many entrepreneurs, too many small business owners, too many people stuck in school. What I mean by that is that you are continually in this education loop.
Firstly, I need to put a spotlight over this concept. I am not in no way, shape, or form saying that you should stop learning in life. What I am saying is, hey, school's out. It's summer break.
Now is the time to go and implement everything that you've learned at school. Now is the actual work hours. You got to go and put in the time to go and make sure that you've taken this concept, this thing that you've learnt and actually implemented it.
For example right now this thing, listening to this, watching this, is you're listening to a message.
The message here is school's out.
What you need to do now is you need to take this message and you need to go and implement it. My challenge to you is this. I want you to give yourself 30 days where you're not learning anything new. It doesn't mean you're not open to lessons.
Don't get me going down that path. It purely is stop signing up. Stop reading these emails that are not doing any justice moving forward, and you know the ones I'm talking about.
Don't get caught up in the hype. Don't get lost in someone else's product launch or someone's new product or service.
I talk about Authority Academy, and the reason why it was created is because there's a clear miscommunication of where you need to be spending your time. I talk about this concept of working on the right things but at the wrong times, very important.
We want you to work on the right things at the right time, and I know I've talked about that in a previous Authority Academy episode here. If right now Authority Academy is for you I don't want you to even go and look at, In fact, after this video I want you to stop consuming anything until you've gone and implementing something that you've previously learnt.
It was just this concept. We got talking. We spent about 45 minutes on it, and it's this thing of school is out.
Time to start putting your education into action because there's never going to be a shortage of a new book, a new course, a new program, and of course be open to changing.
If something comes up and you go, "Well, maybe this course that I've joined right now or this program I'm a part of is not for me right now."
Learn how to actually disengage from that material as well, and don't feel obliged that you actually have to follow through with completion.
I know I've thrown a couple of really screw-with type of things to think about here.

If you really want to succeed in business you must have one of these.
How you doing, it's Brett Campbell here, creator and founder of the Authority Academy Online Coaching Community where I help entrepreneurs and small business owners generate more leads, more fans, and more customers so ultimately they can get their message, their skill set, their knowledge out to the people who want and need it most.
Today I want to share a quick little story with you and share this number one thing that every single business owner must have in their business if they are looking to really succeed and take it to the next level.
This morning I embarked to the gym and started working out, and today was a little bit different than normally. See, the last few weeks I've been turning up to the gym and I've been going to the gym and just sort of jumping from one thing to another and going, "Oh, okay I'll go and do that now," or, "I'll go and do this exercise now."
Coming from a fitness background I totally understand and know that following a workout program is what you really want to be doing if you really want to enhance and you really want to keep moving forward. What happened was in my workout and my training I sort of got to a bit of what you would call a plateau, and maybe you're in a plateau right now with your business.
This, my friends, is what you need if you're really wanting to break the plateau. This is why today's training session at the gym was one of the hardest workouts that I've done in months.
The last workout that I did that was equally as hard, there's something in common here. It was that I followed an actual workout program, I followed a plan, I followed a step-by-step process. That's why I want to introduce you to this concept that we have called "The Authority Road Map".
The "Authority Road Map" is a step-by-step process that helps my prospects and customers navigate their way through a very busy and very unrelenting landscape.
What I mean by that is if you get thrown into this concept of building a business there's so many different fundamentals and so many different pillars that make up a successful business.
Most people just think that they'll set up a sales funnel and they'll run some Facebook ads to it and voila, it's a beautiful, successful business.
Now, you can get so far with that but the reality is there's so many more different pieces, missing parts, that are going to ultimately lead you to building a successful business.
Now, why do I share this with you today is because I want to ask you are you currently following a plan? Are you following something that you can look at right now that will release and reduce overwhelm when you start thinking about all the things that you need to do in your business.
Now, having a plan and having a navigational system. Now, think about this. If you had to drive from point A and you had to drive 500 kilometres to point B and you've never been to this place before. Do you remember back in the days?
I remember my first ever experience when I was driving and I didn't have a GPS so I actually had to go online and I printed out; Actually, I had an atlas. I was using an atlas like a big book and I'm trying to follow the roads. It was very, very overwhelming because it really wasn't a step-by-step process.
Now you look at a GPS it says, "Turn left in 100 meters." That's all you need to focus on is that next turn. Then it says, "Turn right at the next round about."
Then you go turn right and it says, "Turn around because you're lost." That'll happen as well but we're not going to get into how GPS's work.
The reality in what I'm really trying to say here is that if you ar...

Facebook Ads don't work.
How're you doing?
This is Brett Campbell here, curator and founder of the Authority Academy, where I help entrepreneurs and small business owners generate more leads, more fans, and more customers to they can ultimately get their message, their skills set and their knowledge out to the people who want and need it most.
Today, I want to talk to you about this concept "Why Facebook Ads Don't Work."
Before I get this post and before I get the feedback from everyone going, "Brett, you're full of shit, Facebook Ads are amazing," here's my caveat.
Facebook Ads don't work if you don't know how to do them properly, if you don't know how to execute them properly, if you cant understand what it all means.
The amount of times I see people when I ask them, I say, "To here, put your hand up if you had used Facebook Ads before." Of course, everyone's hands go up, everyone's dabbled a little bit.
Maybe you're lucky, maybe you only wasted $20, maybe you put $50, maybe $100, maybe a thousand, who knows?
Then the second question I ask is I say, "Well, who's using Facebook Ads every single day?"
Then everyone's hand goes down, maybe a couple of hands stay up.
The reality is, the reason why people aren't advertising every single day is because number one, you don't understand the Facebook landscape.
Number two, you don't know where you're actually sending people to, like do you have a sequential funnel that creates this concept called the "dream come true" experience?
Or are you just throwing money against the wall and hoping it's going to stick or hoping it's going to attract someone? Or are you that person who just clicks the blue button that says "Boost Post" and you're like, "Hmm, Facebook's telling me to boost my post so I should do it."
The reason why Facebook Ads don't work they are not getting executed on.
You're either not using your pixels properly, you're not creating the ads properly, the image is not right, your message is wrong, there's an incongruency throughout the entire process.
The amount of ads that I actually click on, just for pure curiosity, just to see what's going to happen, and they take you to a page which is totally incongruent with what the message was, then of course they're going to waste their money, because no one wants to be lead to an end of a dark alley, do they?
No, people want to be held by the hand, taken through this concept like we call the dream come true experience.
I just want to challenge you right now. Before you spend another cent on Facebook Ads, do your due diligence. Make sure you understand what pixels are, make sure you understand the different opportunities you have with creating audiences. That is amazing.
Here's a tip for you. If you've got an email address or you've got an email database, upload your email database contacts to Facebook right now and you can send highly targeted ads to that audience. Think about that.
There's amazing opportunities that we have in front of us. Facebook are making it more and more easier for us.
I know a lot of people think, "Oh, it's hard because Facebook keep changing, putting up new pixels, they're doing all this stuff and it's confusing." The only reason it's confusing is because you're not putting enough time and energy into learning and mastering the art of it.
Or, on the other side is, you're spending money on the wrong experts to help you teach the stuff or do it for you, because the amount of conversations I've had around that, that's entirely another video by itself,

How are you doing?
It's Brett Campbell here, creator and founder of the Authority Academy online coaching community where I help entrepreneurs and small business owners generate more leads, more fans, and more customers.
Today I'm back with another training where I actually have just finished up a community training, so I had the team on the line and we're there for an hour, and I was going through several different things that are working right now for us in our business.
Some of them are already implementing and achieving amazing results, which I'm pretty stoked about, of course, but I wanted to share one of these methods with you. I guess it's more of the over-arching topic of it, because I'm sure you can go away and run with it.
It's this concept, and I don't want to say it straight away because I know what you're going to think.
You're going to go, "Well that just makes sense, Brett. That's just common sense."
I want to make sure that you're not using the ... it's common sense, but you're not using common practice, OK?
I need you to go ahead and implement this, and this is something that is working right now. Maybe you listening to this, watching this, you've actually had this form of interaction with me, and it's what I call the Law of Reciprocity. It's this concept of give first to receive.
I want to share a quick little story with you. If you've read the book "Influence" by Robert Cialdini, he shares a story where they've got a group of college students in there sitting at desks in a library, and they're all doing work, and it's all quiet, and they're doing some tests.
What happens is one of the students gets up out of his seat, and he walks out into the hallway. He comes back, sits back down, and he's got 2 cans of Coke with him.
He has one can, and he gives the other can to the person sitting next to him and says, "Oh look, I was allowed to bring this back in, and I wanted to give this to you."
The guys sitting next to him is all, "OK, well I didn't really want a can of Coke," probably wasn't thinking about a can of Coke, but he took the can of Coke, right?
At the end, as the test or assignments ended, whatever they're doing, ended, they all got up to leave, and the guy who brought in the can of Cokes said to the guy next to him, said, "Hey mate, look.
We've got some raffle tickets, and I'm wondering if you'd like to buy any raffle tickets." Of course, what do you think happened?
Well, the people that got given the can of Cokes, they did this experiment several times, the people that got given the can of Coke bought multiple times more raffle tickets than the people who weren't offered the can of Coke.
That's where this Law of Reciprocity comes in.
I want you to start thinking about where are you giving first?
Where are you giving those cans of Coke, OK?
Not an actual cans of Coke-context, but where are you actually leading first? Where are you serving first, and how is that currently affecting your current business?
We are in the world right now that is so filled with video, with media, with just every new thing popping up quicker than we can think of, and it's potentially used there to be able to help us get further ahead in life, but the reality is it's actually disconnecting and taking us further away from what is true and what is real, and that's this concept of p to p to relationships.
It's about having key relationships. It's about actually leading first, caring about the person that you're trying to actually help, and not just trying money-grab from them. I want to leave you with that concept.
Obviously,

Why it's extremely valuable for you as an authority to have a number one rated podcast.
How are you doing? Its Brett Campbell here, creator and founder of the Authority Academy online coaching community where we help entrepreneurs and small business owners generate more leads, more fans, and more customers so they can get their message, their skillset, their knowledge out to the world.
Today, I wanted to talk to you about something that I find very interesting.
I logged onto the computer this morning, went onto iTunes.
We've recently just released another podcast. My wife, Emily, she's created a podcast called the Health and Fitspiration Show.
Currently, You can't probably see that right now, but it's sitting at number one. There's something really interesting that I found whilst I was looking at this. I've been doing podcast shows for about,
I think I started our first show would have been close to three years ago now. I think the Health and Fitspiration Show is our fourth show that we've produced, possibly fifth. Who knows, losing count.
Anyway, my message in this video is for you to 100% start thinking about, If you don't have a show right now, I really want you to start thinking about what type of show could you create that could help motivate, help educate your prospects, the people who need your help the most.
The interesting thing that I found out this morning. If you have a look here, right down here, it says "Fit Chick." Now, that's at number twenty-nine, so in the Health, Fitness, and Nutrition.
The Fit Chick podcast was a podcast we created close to, I think, three years ago.
We haven't recorded an episode since November 2014, which I find quite remarkable. However, all of a sudden, our show is showing back up in the top thirty. In fact, it's actually sitting right in front of Jillian Michaels.
Now, why do I share this with you?
Simple.
Content that we put out years ago is starting to, again, once again, pre-populate in people's podcast apps and the iTunes and so forth.
What it does is it allows us to get our message out there to an entire new audience that would otherwise know nothing about us.
I want you to think about that. Do you have a podcast show right now? If so, is it working for you? If not, I need you to start thinking about how are you actually syndicating your episodes.
How are you getting your content out there? How are you getting people to actually listen to this?
There's no point just sitting in front of a microphone here and talking to your computer screen if you're not going to get your message heard.
I thought that was quite interesting. I really wanted to share that with you.
It is the fact that just because you can create something now, this video right now, this audio right now, if you're listening to this on the podcast or you're listening to this on the video, is quote timely, right? I'm sharing something timely.
However, to listen within itself is timeless in the sense that we created content over two years ago and now it's starting to make a run for it again.
I want you think about that. I want you to think about that. What content are you putting out there now that could be heard in twelve months, two years, three years time, and still have a relevant impact on the person consuming it?
Now, if you would like to learn how to create your very own podcast show and not have to pay thousands of dollars for a podcasting course or community, I would like you to become a member of the Authority Academy online coaching community.
Try it out.
Come along.

What you can learn from this phenomenon called Pokemon GO.
How you doing? It's Brett Campbell here, creator and founder of the Authority Academy, the online coaching community where we help entrepreneurs and small business owners generate more leads, more fans, and more customers.
Today, I want to talk about a craze that is sweeping the globe, and it is that of Pokemon.
Just before we get into that, I just want to give you just a few numbers, just to add some context to this. No doubt you've seen in your Facebook news feed, or even members of your family running around the streets trying to catch these bloody things called Pokemon.
The reality of the situation is, is this game, right? It's a game that is created, I don't know too much about it, to be honest, because I haven't jumped over the fence yet. Mind you, though, I'm very, very curious to actually have a go at it, but I think I will manage by leaving it alone.
Anyhow, Pokemon, I was reading this morning, has ... This creation of this game, right, this creation of this game, has increased Nintendo's shares by $7.5 billion.
Currently, as of recording this, they are making $2 million a day on in-app purchases, so it's quite a success. Also, currently there are more engaged, active users on the Pokemon GO game than there are on Twitter, which is absolutely unbelievable.
It got me thinking, because I'm always someone who likes to look for lessons in every single thing that I can see, and I looked at this go, and I go, "Wow. What an amazing concept."
It's actually making people get off their butt, and run around the streets, and the lazy people are actually sitting in their car, driving across from car park to car park, which is unbelievable in itself.
What it got me thinking was this whole thing of gamification. How can you use this concept of gamification in your business to get people to start moving forward, right, to create momentum?
It got me thinking again. I created a video probably a couple of weeks ago. It was a Facebook live, and it was myself at the gym, and there was this ab machine.
Basically, it had some balls, and it had a target, and I had to do crunches, as many as I could in 90 seconds. It had a timer, and all these things, and what it did was it actually made me go really hard trying to get a really good score.
I thought, wow, what a great way to gamify fitness, gamify your health.
Obviously, it got me thinking, going, how does this correlate to a business?
How could you be utilising these successfully as clues? How can you use these clues, and really make something happen in your business to at least get your prospects to put their hand up, or to engage in what it is that you have to offer.
I want to leave you with this thought. Where could you create a challenge, or where could you create some form of a game that is getting people to put their hand up, and to commit to a certain time to be able to actually go through a certain situation?
Think about that. For example, a good friend of mine, he created the Ten Day Hydration Challenge, right?
Basically, the challenge was to be drinking water for ten days. It's something that we know we should be doing, but the reality is, most people don't.
I actually did it, and it forced me to drink a certain amount of litres of water per day, and I'll tell you. By the end of it, I was hooked. I was like, "Okay, what's next?"
I want you to think about, what could you utilise from a gamification perspective to make it more exciting and more fun for your prospects to put their hand up and say, "Yes, I want to know more about what it is that you have."

Are you giving your customers what they really need and what they really want?
How are you doing? It's Brett Campbell, creator and founder of the Authority Academy online coaching community, where I help small business owners and entrepreneurs get more leads, get more fans, and ultimately get more customers so they can make a bigger difference in this world.
Today I want to talk about this concept called are you giving your customers what they really want and what they really need?
Now I just ran a recent Authority Academy one day event. I talked about this topic in depth.
I just want to give you the snapshot of it, so you can actually go away and start thinking about this. One of the points that I rose at the event was why are there one hour personal training sessions?
Why are personal training sessions or fitness classes one hour long? I asked the audience. There was actually a fair few fitness professionals in the audience.
They were like, "I don't really know."
I can tell you the reason why is because when fitness classes came out, fitness instructors got paid by the hour.
Think about that.
Because it seemed like the best thing to do, because the fitness instructor got paid by the hour, so let's make the class the hour. Interesting thought.
Now when I ask fitness professionals, and when you ask most fitness professionals on a whole, generally is one hour the best allotted amount of time for someone to get their results?
Now of course there's arguments either side of the fence.
If you're talking about ninety-five percent of the population on, which is general fat loss and well being, the answer is no. An hour is not the best amount of time.
I also put it out there and said, "Why do most coaches offer one hour coaching sessions? Is one hour the best amount of time?"
Let's say for example you're following an old school coaching method where you've got one call a month with a coach.
You've got to save up all your information and then have that chat for the hour. Is that the best methodology? Is that the best option that you could be giving your customer?
Of course, you sit there, and you go, "Well, no."
I mean for me, fifteen, twenty minutes on a coaching sessions, again there's arguments either side of the fence for this because it might, sometimes you might have to sit down and do an hour, two hour coaching session.
The reality is in general context, that is not the best method. I want to ask you. I want to ask you. Is what you're currently offering what the customer really wants and really needs?
Think about that.
I'll see you in the next episode.
