This is a "Shortcut" episode. It’s a shortened version of this week’s more detailed full episode, which is also available on our feed.
In the 1990s, Steven Meyers was an accomplice to his friend Scott Scurlock, better known as the “Hollywood Bandit”, who carried out a remarkable series of bank robberies across Seattle using elaborate disguises and meticulous planning to evade police.
Scurlock stole millions of dollars and lived an extraordinary double life from a three-storey treehouse outside Olympia.
Steven was there for much of it, and today he joins us to talk about their friendship, how their bank-robbing operation actually worked, and what happened when their extraordinary double life finally came crashing down.
