Why is gratitude so powerful? Did you know that it is proven to release toxic emotions, reduce pain, improve sleep quality, regulate stress and reduce anxiety and depression? That's a pretty tall order but it's been proven. With gratitude, the brain automatically redirects to pay attention to what we have, proving intrinsic motivation and a strong awareness of the present. Also, at the neuro-chemical level, gratitude acts as catalyst for neurotransmitters like serotonin, dopamine, norepinephrine - the ones that manage our emotions, anxiety, and immediate stress responses.
To quote Oprah Winfrey "Be Thankful for what you have, you'll end having more. If you concentrate on what you don't have, you will never have enough"
