Because the song only contains a portion of the truth. What it is saying about God and you, may indeed be true, but it’s not the full story. When we only have half the story, “God is all loving,” then we can be falsely comforted during times of sin and rebellion God, thinking He is pleased with how we are living. The other side is that God hates sin and He also cares whether we obey His commands.
