"Lara Americo is a transgender artist and activist who fights for social justice and LGBTQ rights. Last year, when the North Carolina General Assembly passed House Bill 2, Lara was the voice of the ACLU and Change.org’s campaigns to bring awareness to transgender people’s experiences. Lara’s work has been featured in the Washington Post, NPR, Rolling Stone and Democracy Now! Lara is also the founder of Comic Girl Coffee, an upcoming inclusive space in Charlotte, NY for and by LGBTQ people.
